ABOUT
Kevin Silas
I’m an urban photographer based in Long Island City, New York. My work lives in the streets of the city — in the people who animate it, the places that frame it, and the objects it leaves behind.
Candid photography is a practice of patience: blending in, reading the environment, and trusting your timing until the moment arrives. I organize my archive into three ongoing collections — People, Places, and Things — each one a different way of seeing the same city.

“From the juxtaposition of old and new to the candid moments of everyday life, urban photography allows us to see the world with new eyes. It invites us to appreciate the hidden beauty and untold stories found in even the most ordinary of city landscapes.”
